Howard Gallery of Fine Art Grand Opening

Howard Gallery of Fine Art, in New Hope, owned by Howard and Edye Cooperman, had a full-house of Artists and collectors Saturday night, February 25, at their Grand Opening. The Gallery saw a steady stream of traffic for hours. Artworks from many Artists, including local ones, were on display. Many of these works are still on display, so if you missed the Grand Opening you can still view these great pieces of Art by stopping by the Howard Gallery of Fine Art.

There's never an off season for Art in New Hope, but with the wind and freezing cold weather, one would expect parking to be easily found. As it turns out, the immediate back street and areas around Howard Gallery of Fine Art were completely full! The dedication of the Dutch Room which occured at 4:30pm. Upon entering the Gallery in the Grand Room one was greeted with wonderful live music and a crowd of people. Some of the Artwork was rearranged in the Gallery since its initial Opening a few months ago. The contr ast from each wall created interest and lead one easily throughout the Gallery creating a wonderful tour of Art. Howard Gallery of Fine Art features many Artists and works and because of this careful arrangement it was difficult to miss anything. The Grand Room made for the perfect introduction to the Art on display throughout the rest of the Gallery.

The Mini Show Room was just one of six rooms (seven if you were to divide the dining room from the parlor and eight if you include the stairway which even included work!) that were filled with Art work. The mediums of work vary throughout the Gallery. Mediums include; sculptures, oil paintings, watercolors, glasswork, etching and more. Featured in the center of the Mini Show Room is Romeo & Juliet a bronze sculpture by Barry Johnston. The room also shows paintings by Tim Wadsworth and more.

The Artists were present and people were able to meet and talk with them about their works. There was also a drawing to win a D ot Bunn painting! Exhibiting Artists included; Nancy Allen, Dot Bunn, Jerry Cable, Merle Citron, Doug Handershot, Barry Woods Johnston, Berc Ketchian, William Kilpatrick, Thomas Linker, Gyan Samara, Richard Summons, Luiz Vilela, Timothy Wadsworth, among others. Some of the works on display, along with other works by the Artists, can be seen at the Howard Gallery of Fine Art's Web site. There was plenty to see and much to talk about during the Reception. The open house continued until today, Sunday, but many of the works seen will still be on display at the Howard Gallery of Fine Art.
