Party Music la la lalala la la Will Everyone Be Singing Praise about Your Event?

Many question whether they should try to play Party music at events. There is the ever present fear that it may turn out like junior prom all over again. The boys will be standing on one side of the room and the girls on the other and neither willing to step out onto the dance floor for fear of looking like a dork. If you do play music at your parties you may have to come up with some Games for guests to play to the music or be bold enough to take the first step out on the dance floor and risk looking dorkish to your guests.

A really simple way to get your guests started dancing to start a dance contest for a prize or maybe a dance marathon. Dance marathons were very popular back in the thirties and would make a great addition to a jazz era or Depression era Themed Party. Or the dance contest could fit perfectly with a Disco Party. Some guest is sure to break out in the Robot. These Games help to lighten the mood and once people start to laugh they stop worryin g so much about looking silly, especially if everyone else is enjoying it.

You should decide on your Party music before the Party starts. If you want people to get up and dance it may not cut it to simply turn the radio to your favorite station. There are commercials and DJ's interrupting the music and some songs are just really bad. So sit down and look at some CD's or check for music downloads that way you can plan out what kind of music will play at the Party and in what order. Most people like to dance to something a little bit fast paced; it's good if couples can still dance together to it. Really slow music may cause guests to lose interest and really fast music may be too hard to keep up with.
