When we think of a woman with long blonde hair whose legs have magically been transformed into a fish tail we then think of Mermaids. Mermaids are the first thought that comes into our minds when we are purchasing a new piece of artwork for our wall. Young children love the stories, mystery and beauty of these sea creatures. If you have young children in your life you will see that sooner or later they are fascinated with Mermaids, including mermaid pictures. It is thought that adults dont believe or think about Mermaids but there are many people who believe and think about Mermaids on regular basis.

Everyone remembers the cartoon movie The Little Mermaid by Disney was a great success, as children and even adults were attracted towards the. Mermaid pictures were very popular even in those days, little girls were dressing as Ariel, the mermaid for Halloween and their bedrooms were adorned with blankets, toys and clothing that were tattooed with Mermaids on them.

It was not so that all of the mermaid images that were in the bedroom walls of children were purchased but some of the children draw the pictures themselves as we all know children have such active imaginations.

Mermaid pictures could be easily found on the coloring books of children and they love it. Along with puppy dogs, kittens and flowers, mermaid pictures can be found inside the color books just waiting to be filled in with color so they can jump from the page to the real world. The crayons marks are usually outside the lines drawn on the page to create beautiful and priceless works of art. No one can measure the happiness of walking in a home with small children and see a refrigerator or bulletin board covered with pictures all torn from coloring books colored by small children.

For most of the children mermaid can swim and shes always beautiful regardless of how much time she is under the water. Children discover much more than only the fantasy of becomi ng a Princess with mermaid. It has a different charm to children.

Once a child understands that there are no pretty girls swimming under the ocean they will quickly lose interest in actually becoming mermaid. As children grow up they begin to make difference between reality and fantasy. Now, they dont wait for Santa Claus to come down the chimney and the Easter Bunny becomes a distant memory.

But whenever they will see the images of Mermaids they will remember the time when they wanted very much to be like that beautiful graceful creature. Those young women when become mother themselves will be interested in the mermaid pictures that their own daughters draw for them and would love them.
