Bolton V Manchester United

This Weekend sees Manchester United take on Bolton Wanderers in a great Lancashire Derby. Both teams have had fantastic starts to their premiership campaigns and both teams will be keen to snatch victory to maintain momentum.

Ordinarily this would be a fixture that Manchester United would be expected to win. This season it is not the case. Bolton have demonstrated what a strong team they are and boast one of the best defences in the premiership thus far. Manchester United have also had a strong start, typified by their victory over Liverpool last weekend.

If Bolton beat Man Utd this weekend they will go 1 point ahead of their rivals, if they lose, the red devils will go 5 points clear of them. Anyone can see that this is a game that both sides must win to keep pace with their rivals.

Bolton have beaten Man Utd on 2 occasions at Old Trafford, yet they are yet to beat them on home turf in the premiership, a record Sam Allerdyce will be looking to smash this weekend when the 2 teams meet. United will look to extend their winning run to 5 games, with Ferguson hoping Rooney will end his goal scoring drought.

Man Utd have not been shy in front of goal this season. In fact they have scored on average every 43 minutes of play and have had no fewer than 10 players on the score sheet so far this term. Gone are the days when United relied on one player to grab the goals, the emphasis is now on the team, everyone must do their bit and the result is a team that is much more difficult to play against.

Tomorrows game promises to be a gritty affair. Both teams are strong and will value the points. United will be the favourites but you should never underestimate Bolton, the giant killing side!
